Today we visit the delightful towns
of Montville and Maleny where you are free to browse
the various art, craft, galleries and speciality shops
at your leisure. Touring
among the majestic peaks named by Captain Cook in
1770, we will explore some of the 25 million year old
volcanic plugs that form the Glasshouse Mountains.
|
No wonder Matthew Flinders
was the first european to climb one of these peaks. It
is difficult to keep up with the scenery changes as we decend
the Blackall Range, through eucalytp and rainforest into
the valley which literally contains the fruit bowl of the
Sunshine Coast, with its pineapple, macadamia nut, banana
and pine tree plantations. You’ll enjoy our
stop at one of the many local fruit stalls. The views from
the lookouts are breathtaking, be sure to bring your camera.
